When purchasing a rain barrel or other item from this site, your charge will read from

All of our plastic rain barrels are made from re-cycled food grade barrels. These plastic barrels come into this country from Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy and India, and have traveled many thousands of miles.  Even though we have thoroughly cleaned them inside and out, and applied several coats of a UV polish, they may still have some scratches and scrapes. This should be considered as part of the "character" of the recycled rain barrels.

Our rain barrels have a screw on top with no holes, one inlet one top overflow male hose connection with a cap, a plastic in-line spigot and a bottom drain plug. The overflow fittings allow excess water to be diverted into a second barrel (or third, or fourth etc.), or by attaching hoses, excess water can be diverted to remote areas such as a garden or flower beds.

The plastic in-line spigot is shipped inside the barrel and will need to be attached to the in plastic fitting, both installed by the customer.  The spigot should only be installed finger tight.  The spigot can be interchanged with the bottom drain plug if desired.
 

2009 Shipping Policy Changes Due to large increases in oversize package shipping costs, and our company being located in Indiana, Rain Barrels and More will unfortunately no longer be able to offer free shipping of our rain barrels and barrel products to our valued customers in the coastal states of California, Oregon and Washington.  A nominal shipping charge of $10.00 will be added to each rain barrel or barrel product shipped to those three states beginning 1 January 2009.  Shipping will still be FREE to the other 45 continental U.S. states.  As has always been the case, we do not ship barrels to Canada, Alaska or Hawaii

These barrels are designed to work with the Rain Reserve Downspout Diverter system.  The diverter catches water and sends it down a 1" hose to the barrel inlet until the barrel fills up.  Then the back pressure pushes the excess water back up the hose and back down through your downspout.  These diverters are also designed to divert the water to two barrels at once.
